Hey i figured i'd start my blog out here, I feel this is the right place to share my experience
Well, i'm sure you've all seen my car but here's another look
THE CAR
1992 S13 outfitteed by Vivid Racing for running scca events and D1/Formula D events
-JDM Silvia "brick" style headlight conversion, the infamous sil80!
-Full JIC suspension, arms bars, coilovers Cusco adjustable sway bars
-ATL fuel system
-Custom roll cage (starting with an autopower)
-Full carbon doors, hood, hatch by SEIBON
-Rotora 6 piston front, 4 piston rear brakes with hydro eBrake
-Defi Dlink Gauges memory all that good stuff
-totally stripped chassis from start and has been painted inside and out, litterally
-Full Chargespeed kit, all bumpers, skirts and 50mm wide rear fenders, 30mm wide front fenders
-Axis Reverb rims, 18x8.5 front, 18x9.5 rear
-RPM Signs full Vinyl wrap, the entire graphics package of this car is a big decal!
that's the main over veiw i suppose...
here's a pic or two =)
and at HIN 07'
Ok, now the engine =)
ENGINE
2000 GM High Performance ASA 5700 series LS1
-built by GM and Lingenfelter
-outfitted for Oval track racing including custom cam grind, full dry sump system, with a 12 quart oil tank
-full standalone wiring system, all it needs is power and ground, including all switches for starter, fan relay, and even fuel pump relay
-Hinson Super Cars (hsc) headers
-HSC clutch kit
-HSC radiator kit
-Universal LS1 engine mount kit from Car Shop Inc, here's a link
http://carshop.carshopinc.com/product_info.php/products_id/86960/2350
-T56 tranny out of a 2001 Camaro z28
-Fidanza Flywheel
-ACT type clutch
-custom driveline
-Flowmaster 3" outlaw mufflers
-turn down tips
here's a few pics of what i've got collected so far....
i haven't started fab yet, will this weekend! (2/10/07)
till next time, the next installment should be the setting in of the engine, i'm going to have my pro welder buddy just weld in the universal mounts once we get it sitting right, taking into account all of the headers, and the tranny, we're going to try to get it pushed that 1/2" back that many people can't do with the front sump oil pan, since i have a dry sump pan, the pan is only about 3 3/4" deep and it's flat! so mounting positin will be different then others.
added 2/7/07
here's a pic of the 12 quart oil tank! that's 3 1/2 gallons of oil =)
and the oil filter block, it has the inlet, oulet and oil pressure gauge fittings on it, and holds a monster filter, this will run inbetween the motor and the oil tank

Haha yeah it's all good, feel free to ask questions, that's how i learned !
the chick, sorry my buddy's x girlfreind, so that's the only one haha
And the dry sump system was on the engine when i bought it, but look up on the ASA LS1 and you might find some new things
yeah i'm baisically applying my old oval track knowledge to my new drift setup, the dry sump is a great system, i'll see if i can copy the picture of how it works, but baisically the pump hangs on the side of the engine, and sucks in oil from the resivior tank, then shoots it up into the enigne and then it's filterd back through a filter and back into the tank. the tank being so big means that there'll always be oil ready to go, never starved.
the other thing i like about dry sump is that in drifting, the oil gets sloshed around alot, but a dry sump system doesn't.
yeah i'm getting more and more anxious to get my tranny in and get it in there!
oh adn i found out that the stainless steel HSC headers do polish up nicley with a little elbow grease

Great work rh4, you make me want to take my project a step further and strip the body down like you did.
1. how hard was it to remove/reinstall the glass?
2. can you post some more pics of how the rear fendes are attached(esp near the door)?

i haven't gotten the engine in the chassis yet, i have driven it with the ka-t setup, was pretty cool. The car responds awesome! I'm actually playing with a steering quick box ideas also...
the headers are the Hinson Super Car headers, all stainless steel, nice welds, very high quality, will easily last the life of the car... they seem to polish up nicely too =)
i'm a little confused on start the story?
