haha Billy Madison Rocks! haha, happy madison! haha, anyhow, yeah it's all good! i'm just trying to write in everything i can, maybe help someone else out, or make for an interesting thread, hopefully draw some more attention to the ls1 swap.
as far as money haha you probably don't want to know haha, but i've spent about 26k between the car and the engine (when it's complete) ALL my money goes into this setup, i figure if you wanna run with the big boys, gotta have the big toys. Honestly, i've been beat by that slightly more expensive part on the race track for so long since i was a kid, so i have no problem goin all out, plus it's fun to spend hard earned dough, i think my lowest recent paycheck has been 100+ hours on it (for 2 weeks)
yeah i talk alot about it because i get alot of the jealous type, that's why i hope to maybe shed some light with my swap, maybe it'll help someone else with theirs.
thanx for checkin in alot and stay tuned, monday the tranny comes in.....
the saga continues.....

| Are you gonna weld those engine mounts to the sub frame or frame rails?

I'm also using those mounts...
If using the Hinson headers, you can't mount them the way you want to without modification. You have to mount them with the flanges forward, making it harder to mate to the subframe. Granted, if you cut the flanges off and weld them in a different spot, you'll be fine. But, here is a picture of what I did. I still need to add some gussets for support, but you get the general idea. Thought you'd want a heads up of what you're going to run into. Might save you some time.

What if you made new mounting plates with the ears moved on the plate so they just clear the headers. You would still be off of the crossmember but not as much as if you just flipped them.
In the photo below it looks like you have room for the mount to go toward the header maybe 2" before hitting it. I don't know hard to tell from the photo.

The 'ears' or flanges on the plates that attach directly to the motor. I think we're saying the same thing, just different ways. But, you can't flip them as they will hit the headers. You would have to cut and reweld. The nice thing about just leaving them alone is that I have plenty of clearance to get to everything (the bolts holding it to the subframe especially) and the supports are now welded into place. I'm usually overly cautious and I feel confident these mounts will take anything I can throw at them.

| Ok I see what you are saying now, thanks for the clarification. Yeah I am not worried about the way you have it mounted. With gussets supporting the plate it's not going to go anywhere.

| Haha, I'm using those mounts too. I just ordered the 3 qt. accusump, should plumb right in to the oil galley. Not as nice as a dry sump tho.....
